The Biblcial Mary-1

Many of you know or have friends who are trapped in the deceitfulness of the Church of Rome. Maybe some of you once were also so deceived. This Satanic deception has created a cult of Mary worship that is unbiblical and only supported by hundreds of years of councils and papal declarations. Let us study just what the Bible says about Mary. Mary and Jesus impending birth are first announced in Matthew.

Matthew 1:18  Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: when His mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child by the Holy Spirit.

1:19  And Joseph her husband, being a righteous man and not wanting to disgrace her, planned to send her away secretly. 1:20  But when he had considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.

In Luke, which we will study later, Mary is already pregnant and an angel appears now to Joseph. He knows the Law and accordingly Mary should now be stoned. But, he decided to just not let this be known and send her away. Their marriage is now over, that is there engagement is now over.

So Jehovah sent an angel/messenger to let him know that this pregnancy is the product of the Holy Spirit and all part of Jehovah’s great plan of redemption.

1:21  "She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins."

Jehovah reminds Joseph of His great promise to King David and that He will be the long awaited Messiah that comes to save people from their sins.

Mat 1:22  Now all this took place to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet:

Mat 1:23  "BEHOLD, THE VIRGIN SHALL BE WITH CHILD AND SHALL BEAR A SON, AND THEY SHALL CALL HIS NAME IMMANUEL," which translated means, "GOD WITH US."

1:24  And Joseph awoke from his sleep and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took Mary as his wife, 1:25  but kept her a virgin until she gave birth to a Son; and he called His name Jesus.

Everyone in Israel knew or should have known about this prophecy and looking for the coming of the Messiah. Sadly, few were in fact truly waiting, who we will identify in later studies.

So Joseph obeyed this angelic message and went forward in actually marrying Mary. So far, we have no words from Mary in Matthew’s summary of the birth of Jesus.

More next Saturday.
